Can You And I Have Any Effect On The Development Of Alternative Energy?
It’s no longer speculation. The world needs to develop economical and environmentally friendly alternatives to fossil fuels. Our world is at a crossroads. We are learning that there is now less of a supply of fossil fuels than we once thought.
In order that we can move towards the future with a modicum of environmental security, it is now clear that we have to consider all alternatives.
Even though governments are looking into alternative energy sources, we all know from past expierience that progress at a government level moves slowly. Relying on anything happening quickly requires us to take some action ourselves.
The crunch here is that at the moment, solar and wind power are still expensive as compared to fossil fuels. Thanks to the rising cost of fossil fuels, some renewable energy sources are now actually affordable for the average homeowner. And the increase in demand will “fuel” private enterprise to supply even more products to utilize renewable energy!
For this reason governments are beginning to offer funding to people if they will put it towards wind turbines or solar panels to power their homes. It is not perfect – this funding is often limited or slow to arrive – but it does provide an alternative for those who are prepared to take it.
